TV & Satellite Cable,
How to fit an F connector
1) Cut around the outer plastic covering with a sharp knife 25mm from the end, being careful not to cut the braided copper wires inside.
2) Pull off the plastic sheath.
3) Separate the copper wires and then twist them together, folding the end back over outer plastic sheath.
4) Cut off the exposed metal foil shield.
5) Leaving about 2.5mm of white plastic insulation, cut through and remove the inner white plastic insulation to expose the inner wire core.
6) Screw an 'F' connector over the end as far as it will go, making sure that the inner wire core does not touch the braided copper wires.
7) Cut off the exposed copper braiding that sticks out the back end of the f connector.
8) Using a sharp cutter, remove the inner wire core leaving about 3mm exposed. Cut the wire at 45' to make the connection to other fitting easier.
9) Seal F connectors that are used outside to stop moisture ingress. Water can run through the cable, and will damage the inside of the LNB and satellite receiver.
